Toronto SEO agency, serving Canada and the US
Local SEO Agency in Toronto
White Dolphin is a Toronto SEO agency that does technical, on-page and local SEO for service businesses in Toronto and the GTA, and for clients across Canada and the United States. We start with a manual audit of your site, fix what stops Google from crawling and trusting it, then build the pages and local signals that match what your customers actually search for. We report on calls, forms and booked work, not on rankings alone.
We work mostly with clinics, salons, contractors and professional practices that have no in-house marketing team.

A search presence needs more than a list of keywords.
A clearer picture of technical and content opportunities
We start with a manual review of the site: how search engines crawl and index it, which pages carry weight, and where content is thin or missing.
Useful pages aligned with customer intent
Pages are planned around the questions and searches your customers actually use, so each one has a clear job and a reason to rank.
Local visibility that connects to a real business
For businesses that serve a local area, business profiles, location signals and local pages help you appear when people search nearby.
What’s included
What our Toronto SEO services include
Technical foundations, content and authority, worked on together and in the order that matters most for your site.
Manual review of your current site
A hands-on technical audit of crawling, indexing, speed, structure and on-page signals, with a prioritized list of fixes rather than a generic score.
Audience analysis
Who you want to reach, what they search for and what they need to see before they get in touch.
Competitive analysis
Which competitors appear for the searches that matter to you, what they do well and where the openings are.
Content analysis
A gap analysis of your pages against search intent: what to improve, merge, expand or create.
Link building and content promotion
Earning relevant mentions and links with content worth referencing, promoted to the people and sites that would care about it.
Schema markup and business profiles
Structured data and business profile optimization that help search engines understand your services and where you work.
Local vs organic
Local SEO and organic SEO: what each one does
They are two different sets of results on the same Google page, and they are won in different ways. This is the short version of what we explain in every first review.
| Local SEO | Organic SEO | |
|---|---|---|
| Where you appear | Google Maps and the map results at the top of a local search | The ordinary results below the map |
| What drives it | Your Google Business Profile, distance to the searcher, reviews and consistent business details across directories | Page content, site structure, technical health and links from other sites |
| Best for | Businesses customers visit, or that travel to customers in a set area | Searches about a specific service or problem, wherever the customer is |
| First thing we check | Whether the profile is verified, in the right category and matches the website | Whether Google can crawl and index the pages that matter |
Most local service businesses need both. The map catches people ready to call a business nearby; organic pages catch the searches too specific for the map, such as a particular treatment, or a problem described in the customer’s own words.

Toronto and beyond
Local SEO in Toronto and other competitive markets
For most searches for a local service in Toronto, Google shows a map with a short list of nearby businesses before the first ordinary result. Google says it ranks that list on relevance, distance and prominence, and much of the prominence comes from your Google Business Profile and your reviews. A strong website alone does not get you onto that list, and a strong profile linking to a weak website rarely turns its clicks into calls.
So local SEO in Toronto is two jobs done together. We clean up the business profile and the name, address and phone details that directories hold about you, and we build service pages that say plainly what you do and where: North York, Vaughan or Scarborough, not just “Toronto”. The same approach works in the other Canadian and US cities where we work with clients outside the GTA, and it pairs well with Google Ads management while organic visibility builds.

How it works
How we approach SEO
Audit
We review the technical setup, content and current visibility, and look at the competitors you are up against.
Prioritize
You get a short, ranked plan: the fixes and pages most likely to matter for your business, in the order we would tackle them.
Improve
We fix technical issues, improve key pages, add structured data and build the content and links the plan calls for.
Measure
Regular reporting on rankings, organic traffic and enquiries, and what we will work on next.
SEO is ongoing work. Timing depends on your current site, your competition and the scope we agree. We talk through realistic expectations in the first review, and we do not promise rankings.
Is it right for you?
Is SEO the right next step?
Customers search for what you offer
If people look for your service on Google, organic visibility can bring enquiries without paying for every click.
Your site rarely appears
Pages that are hard to crawl, thin or poorly targeted often sit beyond page one, where few people look.
You rely entirely on ads
SEO builds a channel that keeps working between campaigns and reduces dependence on ad spend.
You serve a local area
Local search and business profiles help nearby customers find, compare and contact you.
Client result
A real result: Valley Anger Management
Valley Anger Management provides court-approved anger management classes from Woodland Hills, in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, and online across California. We ran our full SEO setup on the site from 11 to 18 August 2026: a technical audit and fixes, and a cleanup that merged 58 thin blog posts into 10 stronger ones, with every old address redirected. These are its Google Search Console figures for searches that do not include the business name.

| Month (2026) | Impressions | Average position | Clicks |
|---|---|---|---|
| May | 1,391 | 25.7 | 1 |
| June | 1,708 | 22.8 | 3 |
| July (1–30) | 1,570 | 25.5 | 5 |
| August (4–31), SEO setup 11–18 | 1,492 | 22.9 | 10 |
| September | 1,472 | 19.0 | 8 |
| October (1–28) | 2,831 | 11.1 | 12 |
The clearest change is position: 11.1 on average in October, against 25.5 in July, and “anger management classes” now shows at position 9. Clicks are still small, 12 in October against 5 in July. Moving from page three to the top of page two gets a site seen well before it gets clicked; page one is the next step.
How we measured: Google Search Console, searches that do not contain the business name. August leaves out 31 July to 3 August, when spam pages from a July hack inflated the figures, and October covers 1 to 28 October. The site: valleyangermanagement.com.

Frequently asked questions
Good questions. Clear answers.
Everything you need to know about SEO with White Dolphin Digital.
Do you offer local SEO?
Yes, and for most of our Toronto clients it is where the work starts. Local SEO covers your Google Business Profile, the name, address and phone details directories hold about you, your reviews, and service pages written for the areas you actually serve.
How quickly will SEO work?
SEO is an ongoing process. Timing depends on the current site, competition and scope. We discuss those factors during the initial review.
Do you guarantee first-page rankings?
No. Nobody controls Google’s results. We focus on the work that improves visibility over time and report honestly on what changes.
Will you work on our existing website?
Yes. Most SEO work happens on the site you already have. If a rebuild is ever worth considering, we explain why before anything changes.
Do you only work with businesses in Toronto?
No. Our office is in Thornhill, just north of the Toronto city line, and most of our clients are in Toronto and the GTA. We also work with businesses across Canada and the United States. Local SEO outside the GTA works the same way, as long as the business has a real address or a defined service area in the market it wants to be found in.
What can I do this week to improve my local SEO myself?
Three things, none of which need an agency. Check that your Google Business Profile is verified and that its primary category is the service you most want to be found for. Make sure your business name, address and phone number are written exactly the same on your website and on the profile. And ask your last few happy customers for a Google review, using the review link from your profile.
